    Is anything relevant?

  2. Intercessor says:

God and scripture is not relevant as well? I bet cricket is.
    Intercessor

  3. rugbyplayingpriest says:

Women priests seem the only thing one must believe…all else is optional

  4. Hakkatan says:

When the World captures the leadership of the Church, we should not be surprised at anything.

Everything in the Bible says that a leader’s character and family are of crucial importance for a good and godly leader.

This reminds me of an argument I had with a (now former) friend regarding Bill Clinton’s daliances and their relevance to his office. She argued fiercely that one hadn’t anything to do with the other. Hmmm. I would not have believed that TEC could go to the same place. What’s wrong is right and what’s right is wrong. Goodbye TEC.

[blockquote] A spokesman for the Church said that although the Church was not obliged to conform with secular employment law, the reforms brought it in line with current employment practice and legislation such as the Equality Act 2010.

Insanity. The CoE goes to Hell.

The church of england is sort of 10 years behind the TEClub in the race for heresy but is out in front in other aspects. One of the good things of the failure of the Covenant and the Instruments of Unity [sic] is that is accelerates the move away from an anglo-centric communion. Better now, then when the secularists have removed Christianity as a prerequisite for their clergy. (We wouldn’t want to have religious discrimination.)

    Another own goal.

I think it’s around 12 years ago I saw a clergy directory for the Diocese of Olympia. The headings on each page reflect the current faith. The space for the name of the clergyperson followed by one titled “Spouse/Partner”. It was and is taken completely for granted that clergy are shacked up. All the better to relate to their laity. Things just take a little while longer to make it across the pond.

#8 — Ummm, that might be a bit strong, don’t you think? (Yes, I know it is Washington State, lol) Headings like that are pre-designed and programmed templates done by secular companies. I wouldn’t judge the diocese on the basis of a form entry any more than I would run around calling myself a non-Hispanic white person (or even a “Caucasian” — what does that MEAN?), even though I’ve had to indicate that these terms describe my identity and heritage.
    🙁

  10. Fradgan says:

I don’t believe in women priests. Am I still an Anglican?

  11. Pageantmaster Ù† says:

#10 Anglicans believe in God Fradgan.

  12. nwlayman says:

No, Teatime. They did printed locally, themselves. I used to see them in years past before. After women were ordained they still said “spouse”. this is a more recent innovation. Are there places where it is *not* assumed clergy live with someone outside marriage? Not to mention laity of course.
